St. Marks PLace has easily become one of my favourite wedding venues outside of Halifax. Walk inside and you're greeted with high ceilings, stained glass windows and woodwork that has darkened with age. Step outside and you're greeted with a sweeping view of the LaHave River, dotted by white sails and the occasional dory. Its easy to see why the Lutherans of yesteryear chose this spot to gather and worship - there is a great beauty in the contract of the river's movement and the steadfastness of the land the structure sits on. Building here would also save them from the weekly walk to worship in Lunenburg - a 22km round trip that was often made barefoot. [continued . . .
