I’ve hiked Chebucto Head a number of times but there is a section of trail close to the lighthouse that I’d never explored. As someone with vertigo I tend to shy away from steep sections of hill and during each visit I’d kept my distance. Turns out I’d been missing out - what appears to be steep can be easily navigated and leads to a beautiful formation of granite rock. At a glance it looks untouched . . unexplored even. Look closer and you’ll notice the climbing bolts and hangers that have been secured to the rockface. It’s a playground for those who are far more adventurous than myself and these two were more than happy to spend an hour exploring the various paths that lead from base to peak.
