Early February brought a few feet of snow to Nova Scotia. Late February blessed us with 20-30mm of rain in a single day. What better way to fight the winter blues then to travel back to the summer of 2014 and the epitome of a Maritime wedding? Melanie & Scott chose to wed on the deck of the Tall Ship Silva as it sailed the waters of Halifax Harbour and the North West Arm. An open deck wedding on the Silva can provide those on board with an incredible view of Halifax as the late afternoon sun shines through the sails and rigging above. It's the perfect way to spend an afternoon in the city - there is no rush and there is no place to be except in the company of your family and friends. As a wedding photographer it was my first time on board the silva - I hope visit again. Time spent on the water was soon exchanged for time spent in a pub - guests were able to celebrate into the evening hours with trivia, dance and drinks at the Dalhousie Club Pub. A huge shout out to Lauren Arbuckle for her work as Melanie's MUA, a second shout out to Andrew and Stephen of The Fine Tuners for their live music on the Silva and a third shout out to Scott Rideout of True North DJs for the beats. These folks deserve all the praise.
Are you looking at celebrating on the Silva? Feel free to touch base with any questions you may have. I’d love to be your photographer!
