Luckett Vineyards Wedding

Exploring Gaspereau as a Wedding Photographer

I’ve fallen in love with Halifax, but I also love leaving the city behind and exploring the countryside. Exploration is a keystone of the wedding photography business, and something that all wedding photographers should take advantage of. I was born and raised in Ontario, but moved to Nova Scotia in 2001 to attend Dalhousie University. The difference in land area between the two is staggering, but I wasn’t prepared for how diverse the smaller province of Nova Scotia is. Despite the small size there are still a number of pockets I haven’t visited - I was therefore honoured to be invited to Rebecca & Konstantin's wedding as it would provide an opportunity to explore an area of the Gaspereau Valley that I hadn't yet travelled through. Grand-Pre Road passes through the heart of Grand-Pre and crosses the Gaspereau River before winding it's way to the top of Gaspereau Mountain. It will eventually lead you to Luckett Vineyards - the site of Rebecca & Konstantin's ceremony and reception. The view from Luckett’s is incredible - grape vines line the foreground while Cape Blomidon rises out of the New Minas Basin in the distance. Farmland for miles and tidal waters for many more. An idyllic backdrop and an endless supply of Luckett wine and local foods made for the perfect afternoon - this is a fantastic wedding venue for those looking to celebrate outside of Halifax.
