An Oceanstone Seaside Resort Wedding

Exploration is definitely a perk of being a wedding photographer. Nothing is stopping me from exploring outside of this job, but when I'm dressed up and documenting I feel like I have a free pass to wander grounds and snap away. I've lived in Halifax for 15 years but I haven't had the pleasure of exploring Oceanstone until late last year.

What a gem.

It doesn't take much to escape peninsular Halifax. 5-10 minutes by car and you're on the coast, hopping from one village to the next. The cottages at Oceanstone offer visitors a beautiful view of Indian Harbour, just around the corner from iconic Peggys Cove. From an upper loft your view will extend beyond the harbour and to the shores of Garrison Rocks, Jacks Island and Wreck Island. To your right is the Paddys Head Lighthouse. Stay long enough and you can enjoy the sun setting on these landmarks.

Holly & Renee were wed in a room with a view. Jack pines, crashing waves, rolling clouds. It was a cold, grey November day on the outside but it was rather cozy on the inside.

A huge shout out to the staff at Oceanstone - you treated everyone like royalty. Another shout-out to Vicky Mina and her mad makeup skills. A third shout out to The Fine Tuners - the best stringed duo in these parts. And last but not least - True North DJs ripped it up. Picked it up, bounced it off the walls. Wrecked it.
