New Brunswick Orchard Wedding

It was a blustery day in Belliveau Village - waves were forming on the Petitcodiac River and the tall trees lining Belliveau Orchard danced back and forth which each shift in the wind. The wind wasn't the only thing I noticed that day - fresh vegetables, a burgeoning apple crop and a drop in temperature were also signalling a change in season. This is perhaps my favourite time of the year - when one can start to enjoy the fruits of summer labour and escape the heat and humidity that is July and August in the Maritimes. Haley and Chris had chosen both the season and their ceremony site wisely - far enough from the Petitcodiac to avoid the wind and close enough to the orchard to enjoy the rows of apple trees. A ceremony in Belliveau Village soon gave way to a party in Springhill, Nova Scotia. I've never seen the full guest list sworn in as honorary Newfoundlanders, but I assure you that the cod survived until the very last inductee. Long may your big jib draw.
