Halifax Yacht Club Wedding

Warm sun and a steady breeze. The perfect mix for an afternoon of sailing along Halifax's Northwest Arm. It was also perfect for an intimate outdoor wedding underneath the trees at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron - North America's first yacht club. Although the club didn't originate in its current home the post and beam structure is steeped in character and tucked away in a quiet part of the city. Nautical charts and instruments line the walls, as do various cups and awards that have been earned over the years. To the left of the club is the Dingle Tower, overlooking the northern part of the arm. To the right lies the harbour entrance and the rolling swells of the Atlantic. This would be my first visit to the club as a wedding photographer and I am thankful to Rob and Jody for the opportunity to document their day.  Its not everyday that I'm able to sail the Northwest Arm, but I hope to be back again soon.
